Course Description

Jagorawi Golf & Country Club

Located approximately 60 minutes from central Jakarta via the Jagorawi Toll Road, Jagorawi Golf & Country Clubis one of Indonesia’s most prestigious and historic golf destinations. The club features 45 championship holes across three distinctive layouts—the Old Course (18 holes), New Course (18 holes), and the Z Course (9 holes)—offering a diverse golfing experience for players of all abilities. Both the Old and New Courses have proudly hosted the Indonesian Open, further cementing Jagorawi’s reputation as one of the country’s premier golfing venues.

The Old Course

Opened in 1981 and designed by the renowned architectural firm Thomson, Wolveridge & Perrett, the Old Course is widely regarded as one of the most demanding layouts in Indonesia. Stretching through mature trees, natural terrain, and strategically placed hazards, the course rewards precision, course management, and consistency over sheer power.

The opening hole immediately sets the tone with one of the toughest starts in Indonesian golf. This challenging par-5 begins from an elevated tee overlooking a narrow fairway bordered by a river, requiring both confidence and accuracy from the very first shot. Throughout the course, golfers encounter tree-lined fairways, well-protected greens, and strategically positioned bunkers that test every aspect of their game.

Several memorable holes define the Old Course, including the demanding par-3 third and the spectacular par-5 fifteenth, which curves dramatically around rice fields before finishing at a beautifully positioned green. Every hole presents a unique challenge, making the Old Course a rewarding experience for experienced golfers seeking a true championship test.

The New Course

Designed to complement its famous sibling, the New Course offers a more forgiving layout while still maintaining championship quality. With wider fairways, generous landing areas, and multiple tee boxes, it provides an enjoyable round for golfers of all handicaps.

Although more accessible than the Old Course, the New Course still demands thoughtful shot-making, particularly across the challenging middle stretch where narrow approaches and well-guarded greens reward precision. Its balanced design makes it an excellent choice for both recreational golfers and competitive players looking for a fair but enjoyable challenge.

The Z Course

The Z Course is a unique and highly regarded 9-hole layout designed by Max Wexler. Often considered one of Indonesia’s most challenging nine-hole courses, it features holes routed alongside the scenic Cikeas River, which comes into play throughout much of the round.

Surrounded by mature hardwood trees and natural landscapes, the Z Course offers a technical test that rewards accuracy and strategic play. It is particularly popular among experienced golfers seeking an additional challenge or a quick but memorable round.

Facilities

Jagorawi’s clubhouse reflects traditional West Sumatran architecture, distinguished by its iconic pointed roof and elegant design. The clubhouse offers comfortable locker rooms, excellent dining facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere where golfers can relax after their round. The restaurant serves a variety of authentic Indonesian specialties alongside popular international favourites.

Practice facilities include a driving range, putting greens, and short-game areas, allowing golfers to warm up before play. For guests wishing to stay on-site, a small golf lodge is also available, providing convenient accommodation just steps from the courses.
